Dave Valleau President/Producer
Internationally established producer Dave Valleau founded South Creek Pictures in April of 2011 with a primary focus to develop and produce high quality feature film and television production for the global marketplace. Utilizing well-established relationships with representatives of the World’s most respected writers, directors and actors, the company has access to some of the most commercial and successful talent in the industry. South Creek Pictures is a vertically integrated company able to develop, finance, produce and deliver feature film and television productions to compete at an international level. South Creek also has strategic partnerships with international financiers and distributors, enabling the company to finance a majority of a film’s budget outside of US distribution. Well versed and experienced in producing and structuring complicated international Canadian/European co-productions, South Creek Pictures is developing a slate of projects likely to be attractive in the Asian marketplace with the intent to explore co-producing opportunities with partners in Hong Kong and China.
Valleau brings over 15 years of broad and valuable experience, having worked in various capacities from managing a $500,000,000 German media fund in early 2000 to becoming a partner in Infinity Features with William Vince in 2004, where they financed and produced more than 10 films together over the course of 10 years with budgets totaling over $150,000,000. Capote was the most notable of these films, which was nominated for 6 Academy Awards, including Best Picture winning Best Actor for Philip Seymour Hoffman’s performance. During his time at Infinity, Valleau was integral to the production and financing of numerous high quality features including runaway independent hit, SAVED!, starring Macaulay Culkin, the box office comedy smash, Just Friends, starring Ryan Reynolds, and psychological thriller, Shattered, starring Pierce Brosnan, Maria Bello, and Gerard Butler. In 2007, Valleau executive produced the sci-fi thriller PUSH, shot in Hong Kong, directed by Paul McGuigan and stars Chris Evans, Camilla Belle, Dakota Fanning and Djimon Hounsou. In 2008, Valleau completed Terry Gilliam’s adventure fantasy, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. The Canada-UK co-production was shot in London and Vancouver starring Heath Ledger, Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Andrew Garfield, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law. The film premiered at the Cannes Festival as a special presentation in 2009 and is one of Telefilm Canada’s top grossing Canadian films of all time, having grossed over 63M Worldwide.
